Looking after your Oak Flooring

With many of us working or staying at home, we have put together some advice on the cleaning and maintenance of your oak flooring to keep you busy and perhaps get that worn floor looking as good as new. It is important to look after your floor and to do so regularly. General dirt and dust can be swept away or removed with a vacuum. This will stop the grit from running along the oak floors surface and creating scratches.

Our main picture shows a floor that has not been looked after properly and is in dire need of some TLC!
We recommend the Bona Spray Mop (see below) for the regular cleaning of your floor. It is easy to use and the refillable cartridges ensure you are using the correct cleaner for your floor finish.

Once you have a beautifully clean and dry floor it is always advisable to apply a coat of Maintenance Oil to the floor. This helps refresh and replenish the floor finish that was applied to your floor when it was manufactured. There are products for Oiled, Lacquered & Water based finishes, we will supply you with the correct Maintenance product, for your particular floor

For those floors that need extra attention we can provide you with tailored Maintenance Service using our Bona Floor Scrubber (below). This machine cleans, scrubs and removes the dirty water from your floor, we would then apply the correct Maintenance product to the floor, to bring it back to life.
