When choosing an engineered wood floor, there are a few things to consider regarding the finished look of the space you are covering.
The market is flooded with Chinese produced engineered flooring and they will come in many different colours, a few different widths, but generally not in any real long lengths. This is all down to the transportation of the floors and maximising the space within a shipping container. These floors are typically anywhere from 1800mm long to 2200mm long.
There is nothing wrong with a floor with this specification, but if you are building your “dream home” or renovating/extending your home to make it your dream home, you may want something a little bit more special.
Our European partners specialise in providing multi width, long length floors. Which can also come in other wood species, not just oak.
The floor can be anything from 120mm wide, up to 400mm wide and they have 3 options when it comes to the length of the boards.
OPTION 1, (STANDARD) – 600MM – 2500MM LONG
OPTION 2, (XL) – 3000MM – 5500MM LONG
OPTION 3, (XXL) – 5000MM – 7300MM LONG
The first image below is an example of a 260mm wide board in lengths from 3500mm – 5500mm (xl). You can see from this image the difference when compared to other the image below, which is of a 1800mm long board.
