New Kitchen Floor

The Brief

The client visited our showroom in Holt, just outside Bath to look for a replacement kitchen floor. The existing floor was a very riven natural slate which was extremely difficult to keep clean & maintain. The slate floor was also very dark and they wanted a floor that would give them the natural stone look but easy to look after and keep clean but lighter in colour when compared to the slate floor in situ.

Our Solution

Given that the client was finding the riven slate difficult to keep clean as well as being too dark, i put forward our tumbled porcelain range as an option.

The porcelain was available in three colours, light grey, taupe and dark grey. The client chose the taupe option in a 10mm x 900mm x 600mm format.

The Outcome

The slate floor was removed to reveal a plywood subfloor. This was overlaid with 6mm cement fibre board to provide a stable surface to then tile the floor.
The end result was a lighter brighter kitchen with a floor that looks authentic and is very easy to keep clean and maintain.
We managed the project from start to finish and completed the works in the time frame we allowed.
